Verified clone

This is a verified clone of FORBIDDEN FRUIT (Cherry Pie x Tangie) a modern classic genetic with a beautiful purple/red bud structure and a terpene expression so powerful it won Spannabis 2019 in the hands of and has been used in many breeding projects since. This is a true cali exotic that can be found in many headstashes of the best growers and whose origins have been hard to track down, but the cultivar was bred and selected in house by Joseph of Chameleon Extracts (Extractosdecamaleon)

These clones were produced by one of the award winning nurseries in our agricultural network here in socal. These clones are produced via the cleanest SOPs in the market and each clone is personally screened under a quality control pass before being boxed up and shipped out to our clients across the world.

Forbidden Fruit is a special genetic and a truly beueitufl expression of its parents, all tangie in effect with the structure and beauty and punch of Jigga's Cherry Pie.

Joseph of Chameleon Extracts is the mind behind the Forbidden Fruit who has had dozens of accounts banned from Instagram has taken efforts to distance himself from the cut after many users kept questioning the validity of his genetics, but when you grow her, smoke her, taste her you know that Forbidden Fruit is the real special deal.

We've taken some time to find the most information we can about this cali classic direct from the breeder who gave this interview back in 2020.

Growing Forbidden Fruit:

“The genetics are so strong that you don’t have to push it,” he says. “And everybody is pushing their PPMs [nutrient levels] so high that it’s actually stunting the growth. I hate saying it, but it’s kind of a Blue Dream in that you can literally throw it in the ground and hit it with a garden hose and you’re going to be extremely happy with the end results.”

The problem is that most experienced growers are pushing the plants so far that they have trouble scaling it back. “They always think that pushing the plant more is the answer and it’s not,” says Joseph. “It’s a really easy plant to grow. It doesn’t over-veg. It keeps a nice shell. The nugs are nice and tight. It’s just a matter of not doing too much.”

The Story of Forbidden Fruit:

Forbidden Fruit came to life seven and a half years ago (2015-2016), when he dusted a Tangie plant from Crockett Family Farm with Cherry Pie pollen from Jigga, the legendary breeder behind Girl Scout Cookies and Gelato.

With the plant pollinated, Joseph was off to the races. The first wave of the propagation began with 37 phenotypes, which Joseph says leaned heavily toward the Tangie side of its genetics. Despite the number of test subjects, Joseph was immediately able to narrow it down to one winning phenotype.

“The one that we ended up keeping was purple from the beginning and that was how we ended up keeping the first one,” Joseph says. “Out of the 37, it was the only one showing any color at all. There was a couple that maybe smelled a little better, but it had that visual appeal I knew people would enjoy. But it tastes like Tangie all the way through. It had the Pie look, it just tasted like Tangie.”

From what Joseph understands, he was able to score a batch of seeds from Jigga’s Cherry Pie with a stroke of luck — some other cultivators had a falling out and gifted him the Cherry Pie seeds in the resulting break up. The Chameleon Extracts team popped 30 seeds and narrowed it down to one stunning Cherry Pie plant, the first they’d had in their possession.

“Then I acquired the cut of Tangie and the rest is history."

Notice a
residue issue?
Don't worry,
it's just Sulphur.

WE USE A SULFUR BASED FOLIAR SPRAY IN OUR IPM REGIMEN

If you notice a white or yellow residue in the grooves or spots on the leaves of your new plants, it's most likely dried foliar spray, not powdery mildew (PM).

Sulfur is commonly used across many agricultural industries worldwide because it's one of the most cost-effective and efficient treatments for a variety of issues. This is why the presence of sulfur residue on your plants is perfectly normal.

In fact, sulfur is so effective that it eliminates PM on contact. If you're dealing with powdery mildew, a sulfur treatment will take care of it.

Important Note: To avoid a potential phototoxic reaction, wait 7-10 days after a sulfur application before using any oil-based IPM treatments.
